Theme evening: Living to work
What do we work for in our lives?
While economic statistics such as GDP provide relatively clear answers about the meaning of work, buzzwords such as quitting and the declining work ethic of Generation Z show a new perspective on the concept of work. One possible expression of this changing understanding is the Happy Planet Index, a measure of how much Wolhbefinden a society generates in terms of its ecological footprint. Saamah Abdallah is a former member of the British think tank „New Ecconomics Foundation“ and helped develop the HPI. Together with him, we consider whether it is possible to live a happy life that doesn’t cost the earth.
